Ingredients

2 pounds of ground beef

1 large onion, chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce

1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste

1/2 cup of ketchup

1/3 cup of packed brown sugar

3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 packet of Clubhouse Slopp Joe seasoning

12 hamburger buns, split and toasted

toppings for sandwich: sliced sweet pickles and american cheese slices (optional)

Directions:

In a skillet, cook beef, onion and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain fat.  Stir in tomato sauce and paste, ketchup, brown sugar and soy sauce, Sloppy Joe Seasoning; mix well.  Bring to a boil.  Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Spoon about about 1/2 cup of Sloppy Joes on to each bun.  Garnish with sweet pickles and a slice of American cheese.

Sample while cooking and add more ketchup or salt as needed.  

Tip:  This recipe makes a large amount.  Freeze whatever you don't use.
